Licence - Taxi / Private Hire Drivers

Private Hire drivers with a current licence can drive only private hire vehicles.

Taxi drivers with a current taxi licence can drive both private hire and taxi vehicles.

The current fee associated with each licence can be found via our Register of Charges document.

Please ensure that any application for a taxi/private hire driver license contains:

• A completed and signed application form
  
• One passport sized photograph signed on the reverse
  
• A completed and signed Medical Certificate (if appropriate - see guidance notes)
  
• Application fee
  
• Documentation on Right to Work in the UK
  
• Certificate of Good Conduct (if appropriate - see guidance notes)
