The Council has congratulated the continued success, determination and resilience of our young people as they receive their official results from the SQA today.
This year's results highlight achievements made by our young people across a range of curriculum areas and learning pathways.
Each of our schools continue to have a relentless focus on supporting every child to ensure they are able to achieve their full potential.
Overall, the official results show a 5% increase in number of presentations compared to pre-covid levels (when SQA exams were conducted in a comparable way).
There is an increase of 12% in the number of National 5s awarded at 74% pass rate and an 11% increase in the number of Highers; a pass rate of 68%, compared to pre-covid levels.
Of the pupils who passed their assessments, there is a yearly increase in the percentage of A passes being awarded at Higher; much more than pre-covid levels; and at Advanced Higher, with almost a third achieving an A pass.
Additionally, more than a third of young people (34%) in Clackmannanshire achieved five or more National 5s compared to pre-covid levels where it was 29%.
There is a slight yearly increase in National 4 awards with a 7% increase on pre-covid levels. By individual subject, more young people are passing both National 5 and Higher English compared to pre-covid levels; 64% passing Higher English compared to pre-covid levels of 57%.
Two thirds of young people passed National 5 Mathematics, higher than last year and much higher than pre-covid levels where just over half of young people passed.
Two-thirds of young people passed Nat 5 physics, which is not only a yearly increase but a significant increase on pre-covid levels where the pass rate was only 50%.
Reflecting our commitment to health and wellbeing, 94% passed National 5 Physical Education (PE) and almost three quarters passed Higher Physical Education, both much higher than pre-covid levels.
Clackmannanshire reported an increase in the number of Advanced Highers, where nationally there is a fall. The poverty related attainment gap increased nationally at Higher level, but Clackmannanshire has bucked this trend, with the narrowing of the gap in each of our Academies.
Councillor Graham Lindsay, spokesperson for education, said: "Many of our young people who sat exams this year have experienced some disruption throughout the national pandemic and it is amazing to see this high level of success."
"More than ever, I feel that the perseverance from our young people stands out. The strong relationships between our educators, young people and families are making a positive difference in many ways." "These qualifications can support our young people as they take their next steps in life and I want to take this opportunity to wish each learner success for the future."
Colin Bruce, the Council's Chief Education Officer, said: "I'm delighted for our young people and families."
"Everyone who has supported our learners - their teachers, their families and our partner organisations - deserves our thanks and congratulations today."
"I am pleased that the supports in place in our schools and communities are continuing to help our young people reach their full potential. And as this is the first year that the full traditional assessment model has returned, I'm delighted to see that our young people are continuing to succeed."
"I also want to emphasise that while SQA qualifications are important, these results today are just one way we measure our young people's progress, and ensuring they are healthy, happy and supported remains hugely important."
School staff are on hand with help and advice, and the Skills Development Scotland results helpline is on 0808 100 8000.
