Praise for Park ELC after inspection

Children attending Park Early Learning and Childcare Centre in Alloa are “happy, settled, and secure” according to a newly published Care Inspectorate Report.

The ELC was visited by the inspection team in June. The inspectors evaluated four key areas as ‘good’. These were:

• care, play and learning
• setting
• leadership 
• staff team

Some key messages from the unannounced inspection were: 

• Staff were motivated, well-led and passionate about improving outcomes for all children, we acknowledged how hard staff had worked since the previous inspection
• Senior leadership team both external and internal have a clear vision and passion for improvement
• Children are happy, confident, and engaged in their play and learning experiences
• Staff used consistent approaches to support all children with their progress and learning, this included strategies to support children with complex needs and children who just needed extra support
• Children benefitted from positive mealtime experiences which promoted choice and independence
• Children's safety was promoted through detailed risk assessments for all environments and activities accessed by them

The inspection report describes interactions with children as “warm, sensitive, and respectful” and adds that children were welcomed into a safe, homely, and well organised environment.

Staff are described as “motivated, well-led and passionate about improving outcomes for all children.”

Education spokesperson, Councillor Graham Lindsay said: “This inspection report shows the high quality early learning and childcare that is provided in Clackmannanshire, helping our children to get the very best start in life.

“Well done to everyone in the Park ELC community for providing such a caring, supportive and nurturing environment for the children there.
