High tops hill walks (£55 - start times vary)
High Tops are our highly valued hill walking courses. They are enjoyable, sociable outings suitable for everyone from beginners to seasoned mountaineers. We try to vary our routes from the normal ways folk go, so expect a wee bit of esoteric exploring as well as unforgettable experiences.
01/06/25: Eastern Mamores Munros – 6am Start
18.6km with 1930 metres of ascent
The Eastern Mamores consist of four Munros which we can do from Kinlochleven on a long day from Falkirk – hence the 6am start on this walk. It’s an anticlockwise round going over Sgurr Eilde Mor, out and back to the bealach of Binnien Beag, south over the fine Binnien Mor – highest in the range – and then on to Na Gruagaichean, then dropping down the ridge to the track after Leachd na h-Aire. Expect tired legs to go with the bragging rights of getting this one in the bag.
26/06/25: Carn Dearg, Geal-Charn, Aonach Beag and Beinn Eibhinn – bike access – 7am start
18.6km with 1100 metres of ascent
Biking into the Ben Alder Forest area is a Central Scotland hill baggers classic. From Dalwhinnie to Culra is a fantastic cycle mostly on good tracks. Instead of doing Ben Alder we are heading up the other side to tick the four Munros on the opposite side. Carn Dearg is a steep pull up from the bothy, then it’s on to Geal-charn with its big grassy summit area, over Aonach Beag – the highest in the range – then out and back to Beinn Eibhinn before dropping down and taking the Bealach Dubh back to the bikes.
Mountain scrambles
Scrambles start at 0700 and costs £110
From the Lochaber and Glen Coe classics to the wilds of Ardgour or Arrochar, all the way over to the northern Cairngorms, our mountain scramble days are for folk who enjoy moving fast over technical terrain in spectacular settings. The nature of these scrambles means the participant should have previous experience of steep ground.
04/06/25: Venue to be confirmed
We’re keeping our options open for this mountain scramble so that we can go where the weather is going to be best on the day. Expect a graded route, safe guiding, excellent company and an adventure to remember.
24/06/25: Aonach Eagach (Grade 2/3) – Glen Coe
Our summer outing to this most iconic of mainland ridges takes place midweek to avoid the crowds. Billed by some as the hardest scramble on the mainland but the moves are pretty straightforward if you are on a tight rope. Taking in two Munros, we start at the higher eastern end and then scramble towards the western seaboard.
Classic climbing
Climbs start at 0700 and costs £110
Our Classic Climbs involve clients being guided up a classic rock-climbing route. It’s all about a great climb in an amazing place. Venues are not specified because we will go where the weather is best. Because of the nature of multi-pitch climbing, we require participants to have previous rock-climbing experience.
